Practicum 1 (Fall 2024)

One of my strengths as a teacher is my ability to find creative solutions to challenges. In this video, you can see me teaching during my first practicum in a grade 6/7 class. The students were looking forward to our upcoming mock trial where they’d be presenting closing arguments in the case of R. v. Wolf, based on the book “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs” by Jon Sciezska.  The challenge arose when I noticed that students had only read the fact scenario once and didn’t see the importance of revisiting it before developing their legal arguments To help them understand, I used a “connect the dots” analogy to illustrate why re-reading and analyzing the facts is crucial for crafting strong legal arguments.

Copies of the slides are included below since it is difficult to see them in the video.
